At Grow Depot Lake of the Ozarks, we’ve built a business that blends our passion for growing, wellness, and sustainability. Our journey began with a partnership with Andrew at Aero-Gro, bringing aeroponics to the forefront as a reliable, year-round growing solution. Later, a visit to Grow Depot’s home location in Columbia confirmed our path, and we knew this was the opportunity we had been searching for. Today, we are proud to be part of a trusted network providing high-quality grow supplies to the Lake of the Ozarks community and beyond.

Our Personal Journey
For us, Grow Depot isn’t just a business – it’s a lifestyle that perfectly blends our interests in growing, wellness, and sustainability. With roots in Iowa farming, both Brent and I (Jen) have long been drawn to the idea of cultivating our own food and medicine. When Missouri legalized cannabis, it confirmed the idea to bring our knowledge and love for growing to life.
Brent and I are also medical cannabis caregivers, dedicated to helping patients grow their own medicine in a way that is safe, effective, and tailored to their individual needs. We understand firsthand the benefits of home cultivation, and our goal is to make it accessible to as many people as possible.
Beyond cannabis cultivation, we also carry mushroom growing supplies and spores, providing customers with the tools they need to explore sustainable, medicinal, and gourmet mushroom cultivation. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced mycologist, we’re here to support your journey.
The rugged terrain and wildlife around the Lake of the Ozarks can make outdoor growing challenging, and the seasons don’t allow for year-round cultivation. Aeroponics and hydroponics became the solution – allowing for reliable, high-quality growth regardless of the weather. This combination of innovation and personal passion led us to open Grow Depot Lake of the Ozarks.
The lake holds a special place in our hearts. We’ve vacationed here since before we were married, and over time, those vacations turned into visits to my parents after they retired at the lake. Eventually, we purchased our own lake home and knew we wanted to plant deeper roots. Everything aligned at the perfect moment to make this dream a reality.
Our Mission
Our mission at Grow Depot is simple: to empower our community to grow their own food and medicine. Whether you’re an experienced grower or just starting out, we believe everyone should have access to the tools and knowledge they need to cultivate a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.
A Family Affair
One thing that sets us apart is the family behind Grow Depot. Brent’s parents play a huge role – his mom designs many of the crafts and decor items sold in the store, while his dad helps with daily operations. My parents were the original owners of the property, and their support made the brick-and-mortar location possible. My mom has been the ultimate supporter and champion of everyone involved, always ready to lend a hand and keep the momentum going with her unwavering belief in our vision. My dad is often found on the property crafting unique raised garden beds that can be mounted on docks or decks. These gardens keep plants safe from wildlife and their design makes gardening easy for anyone to enjoy. They will soon be available for sale. Custom orders for these gardens will also be available through the website.
At Grow Depot, you aren’t just walking into a grow store – you’re stepping into a family-run operation driven by passion, humor, and a genuine desire to help our community thrive.

This includes offering medical card certifications and expanding services focused on holistic health and wellness to better support our community's needs.
